Always read the small print

Hi
I love this hobby, it allows you to just escape from the world, if only momentary!
Anyway I am still in Brusho mode, these little crystals seem to be taking over the world at the moment, everywhere you look someone is making something fabulous with them.
So here is my latest brusho make, with my favourite colour, grey, I love how it has other bits of colour in it.:-

as my title suggests always read the small print

Not as bad as it first appears, lol.
These stamps by Lil'inker Designs were featured in Octobers
"Craft Stamper" magazine and I thought they were a bit of fun.
Other stamps are:-
Paperartsy - HP1208
and
Viva Las Vegastamps - Banksy Cop giving Finger.
Thanks for stopping by I really appreciate it, please feel free to comment and then I can pop over and see you.
Love

PS. I'll be back tomorrow with some exciting news (well exciting for me!!)

follow the Light

Hi everyone
Just a quick post from me as I have been playing with a new stamp. The Stamp is
"incandescent light" by Susan Loves Stamps.
The background was just an offcut of making brusho backgrounds but I thought the darkness suited the image.

I stamped the image over the brusho then removed the colour with bleach, the image has then been coloured using distress inks and water pen, colours used rusty hinge, tea dye and tumbled glass.

thanks for visiting I really appreciate you dropping by.

"Trees with Autumn Colours" at FSC

Hi Everyone
Today starts another fortnightly challenge over at
Our theme for the next 2 weeks is:-
Trees with Autumn Colours
We are a stamping challenge so stamping should be the main focal point of your project, other than that you can create what ever type of project you like.
On this card I have used the fabulous new stamp from Clarity Stamps - "Bird Tree"
I have stamped it with black versafine onto a brusho and biscotti perfect pearls misted background using the clingfilm technique, the perfect pearls leaves streaks in the colour which unfortunately I cannot get the camera to pick up. I have grounded the tree using a little black soot distress ink.
The sentiment is from Tim Holtz.
My team have come up with some fabulous inspirational projects to support this fortnights theme all of which you can see Here and hopefully we inspire you enough to come and join in with us.
One randomly chosen winner will win a $20 voucher to spend at Flonzcraft are genorous sponsor.
So what are you waiting for?
Come and play along.
Thanks for stopping by I really appreciate you doing so and I'll see you soon

Mini Trilobites

Hi Everyone
If any of you knew what a Trilobite was well well done you. I just know that it is the name of another new stencil I have from Crafters Workshop.
Using brusho on gloss card and stenciled with Wendy Vecchi crackle paste.
I have coloured the paste, once it was dried, with marogold and vintage photo watered down distress stains. I have also added some of Tim Holtz Remnant rubs.
Here you can see the effect that the crackle paste gives.
This makes up a pair, matching up with a piece I made a week ago
Hope you all have a lovely weekend planned and I will see you soon

A Rococo Moment for Stampotique

Hi Everyone
Another Stampotique Designers Challenge  is calling me and the challenge this week has been set by DT member Sam. This is what Sam says regarding her challenge theme

"One of the beauties of Stampotique stamps is even though there are 18 amazing artists designing our rubbery goodness and their images work so well together it's great to use a lot of stamps for one project, I often do.

So this week, I am challenging myself too and inviting you to use just one stamp . . . wondering off scratching head and rubbing chin . . . this is going to be SO hard to choose!!

Well Sam was sooooo right, it was so hard to choose just one stamp, but I did, and I chose
"Rear View Mirror" stamped using black versafine onto stamping card and cut out.

I made my backround using a large stencil as a stamp by adding mini distress pads and a spray of water. I have had this Tim Holtz ornate frame die cut from book page coloured card lying around for ages so have eventually put it to use. Coloured with aged mahogany distress ink and gold gilding wax (the latter which hasn't been picked up on the photo)
the quote is PC generated and finally a length of gold lace ribbon. I have edged it allwith a gold leaf pen and matted onto black card.
thanks for stopping by I really appreciate your visit.
See you soon

Birds or Animals at Stampotique this week

Hi and welcome to my latest followers so pleased that you decided to join me on my crafty journey.
I am very late with my entry into this weeks challenge at Stampotique Designers challenge, infact I might be too late!!!
Anyway the challenge has been set by Kaz who says:-

"Napoleon once said that the English are a nation of shopkeepers. What he should have said is that we are a nation of animal lovers. Nearly everyone I know has got a cat or dog, a pet rabbit or bird, and I know that my Stampotique teamies have their pets too. So this week we're celebrating the fur and feathers and I challenge you to create something with either animals or birds. So put your best paw forward and bring it on."
Here is my entry for Kaz's theme

I have used "Monsters - Nerd Cat" by Stampotique coloured with spectrum Noir pencils
the rest of the card uses Tim Holtz backing paper re coloured with fresco paint
some stenciling,  washi tapes and computer generated sentiment.
Just a quick post from as I need to get this entered into the challenge, but I think I might be too late!!!
thanks for visiting
and see you soon

Using up Brusho practice papers

Hi
Hope you are all having a lovely weekend. I have spent most of today doing all and I mean all my ironing, I bought a new ironing board that claimed to make ironing easier!!! I can confirm that it didn't and it is still a chore...... Having done all my ironing I was a little lacking in wardrobe space so this ironing task led me to sort out some (I couldn't cope with all) of my wardrobes. So 5 bin bags, for the charity shop, later I have managed to put my ironing away. After that I thought I needed some therapy and what better place then than a couple of hours in my craftroom.
I was sorting through all the sheets I had with my Brusho practising and decided to see if I could make some cards out them, so these are what I came up with.

Stamps used are all from the Revolution set by Visible Image

Secondly
Stamps are:-
Indigoblu "Beautiful Minds" set
Indigoblu "Script" background
Clarity "Word chain" No.5

and lastly
Stamps used:-
Indigoblu "Boadicea" set
Indigoblu - "Nature 1"
Bleach to remove the colour from the flowers then added the pale blue.
Thanks for stopping by
see you soon

Brusho but with a clingfilm and perfect pearls combo

Hi Everyone
I hope you are all having a lovely weekend. I got the chance to finish a project I started a few days ago. I began with a background that I have made with brusho's but this time using them slightly differently, I first saw this technique on Anjas wonderful blog HERE and love the effect that she created, clingfilm and perfect pearls pewter spray.
Onto glassy card I sprinkled brusho's, a little water and sprays of perfect pearls pewter spray to also activate these little cystals of colour. I then laid scrunched up clingfilm onto top and wrinkled it around, once dry I removed the clingfilm and was left with this wonderful effect, unfortunately the camera doesn't pick up the pewter but it runs through the colour.

I then used Wendy Vecchi crackled texture paste through Crafters workshop "Mini Fish Fossils" stencil. I like how the wet paste has picked up some of the colours from the background I have also tinted them slightly with marigold distress stain.
You can see the crackled effect better here on a close up picture

I have used some Tim Holtz remnant rubs to finish this off.
I am currently looking for new ways to use Brusho crystals and really like how this technique has turned out.
I would like to enter this into this months challenge at Country View Challenges
their theme for September is NAUTICAL.
thanks for stopping by and have a lovely saturday evening,
Love

Favourite Colour Combo at C4E

Hi
Today starts another weekly challenge at Crafts4eternity and our theme for the week is
"your favourite colour combo" (minimum of 2 colours)
Now Here comes my big admission, one of my favourite colours is..........pink!!!
and on this card I have teamed it up with grey and some touches of pastel colours.
It isn't totally another brusho card, the pink and pastels are mop ups on my craft sheet of slightly diluted Dylusions inks, the I added grey brusho over the top of that.
the main image is from Inkadinkado and I have no idea what its called. I have removed a little of the colour with bleach just to give a few white accents to it.
Other stamps include:-
Texture circle by Stampendous stamped in pink versamagic
Friends 2 by Art Journey
Sentiment Stampendous "Life is Art"
I have finally added a piece of sequined net which I cut into a strip.
So why not come along and join in with your favourite colour combo piece.
This particular challenge is sponsored by "Crafts4eternity" and one randomly chosen winner will be able to pick 3 digital stamps from the online store.
Myself and my team mates would love to see you over there and see what your favorite colour combo is.
Thanks for visiting and see you soon

Main image stamped with versafine black ink.
Happy Birthday is Tim Holtz stamp..

Fashion Fortnight at FSC

Hi
Today starts another new fortnightly challenge over at fashionable stamping challenges with the fabulous theme of
FASHION
We want to see your fashion themed projects which must include rubber stamping as your main focus.
So to get things started here's mine.

I have created the background using Brusho's, I think for those of you that follow my blog you will have guessed that I am currently addicted to these little pots of paint crystals!!
I then stamped "Mode Chic" by Carabelle Studio.
Then using the postal stamp from "Paris Memoir" set - Tim Holtz I stamped with bleach over the brusho (I'm loving this effect too)
I also added the Eifell Tower from the same set. All stamping has been done with black versafine.
I added an additional sentiment "She had a flair for fashion" - Wendy Vecchi Flair for Art set.
Some machine stitching finish this card off.
Carabelle Studio - Mode Chic
My team mates have created some stunning pieces should you need any inspiration, and if you don't well worth a look anyway here.
One lucky winner will win a $20 voucher to spend in the Flonz Craft store.

Refresh it! at stampotique

Hi
This weeks challenge at Stampotique Designers Challenge has been set by Kaz and the brief for this weeks challenge is:-
We all love playing with new stamps, but sometimes it's good to revisit some that have been neglected for a while. I'd like you to find an old favourite and give it a new lease of life.
I have chosen as my "Refresh" stamp one I have had for ages and, until now, never even seen an ink pad, how bad is that?
that stamp is
"Zara's Cupcake" by Maria Raita Sabina
I have used it to make this card for a very special little girl.

Lots of white space on this one, a little bit of stenciling with paint, washi tape and sentiment cut from my silhouette.

Image has been coloured with spectrum noir pencils.
I've gone with quite a different look with this weeks challenge so hope you like it.
thanks for visiting

A Very difficult week

Hi
and huge big hello and welcome to my latest followers, thankyou for sharing my journey. This week has been a terrible week. Following a frantic call late saturday evening I have spent the week at the bedside of my very sick step mother. With the prognosis that she would probably only survive a couple of days I am pleased to say that she has been showing signs of improvement and has been moved to another hospital ward to be cared for. Needless to say my Dad is not for moving from her side because she is a long way from being in any position to go home, so we are all just waiting.........
I have though this week, mostly in the early hours of the morning because I couldn't sleep, being playing in my neglected art journal. It gave me a chance to ink up at least one of my new Dylusions stamps that are just sitting in a pile.
The one I have used here is "Survivor"
the other pages uses an old favourite Dina Wakley stamp - "Grungy Silhouette"
These pages are just a collection of splodges and ramblings.
I don't know really if they are any good, whatever good is? but making them this week has helped me a lot.

Thanks for visiting
