Be Cool!

Hi Everyone

This is my 2nd post of today due to the fact that my delivery of new stamps arrived this morning from Katzelkraft and as it was my day off and as it was raining what else would you do but play!!
This latest release from Katzelkraft are brilliant just love all of them but I think, even though it's a close run thing, that this guy is my favourite I think it's because he just seems to have so much attitude.

I have coloured him with pencils and teamed him up with some Sheena Douglass stamps and the graffiti font stamp is from Woodware. Be Cool is from a Dymo gun strip.
All has been created on a gelli printed background.
If you are interested in this latest range from Katzelkraft you will find them all HERE postage to the UK was less than a week.

Thanks for stopping by

Be Yourself

Hi Everyone

I have been playing with gelli print scraps to create this card. I have cut some not so good gelli prints into squares to create my background. Onto that I stamped the main image which is from Carabelle Studio using my Tim Holtz stamping platform and left both the card and the stamp in the same position on the stamping platform as I would need it again, I then masked her off and added additional stencilling to the background. I then painted the face of the image using blush fresco paint and painted the white of her eyes. Once the paint was dry I then inked up the stamp again that I had left on the stamping platform and stamped again over the parts that I had added paint. This is a great way to paint and make it look like you haven't gone over the lines lol.

I think this might be my favourite technique of the moment!
I then added some heated embossed stamping in white again using stamps from Carabelle Studio.
Sentiment is Tim's large chit chat stickers.
Matted onto black card and added to the card blank.
Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous Sunday

Keep it Simple for That's Crafty Challenge Blog

Hi Everyone
It's time for the start of another challenge fortnight over at That's Crafty Challenges and our new theme for the next 2 weeks is
'KEEP IT SIMPLE'

For my piece of inspiration I have used a scrap of rusty card that I had made and die cut using Seth Apter rectangles and square die's. I have heat embossed walnut stain distress embossing powder having stamped one of Seth's Paperartsy stamps onto the rust card. The women that fill the die cut spaces are from the latest Paperartsy stamp from the Everything Art collection, stamped in potting soil archival ink and lightly coloured with distress ink.
Sentiment, again stamped with the potting soil ink, is from Unity Stamps.
There is a lot more fabulous inspiration for you from the rest of the DT HERE along with all the details.
As always, one randomly chosen entry will win a £20 voucher to spend online at That's Crafty (you'll be stuck for choice).
Thankyou for stopping by and hopefully we will see you playing along

Who said Cheese?

Hi Everyone
As I write this I am happy to say that it's raining, I never thought I would have looked forward to rain as much as I have this week,  the UK has been through a heatwave and I don't do heat!!! Hopefully things will cool down.
Anyway this week I at last got to play with the fabulous 'Les Rats Des Villes' stamp set by Katzelkraft.

I've gone quite simple with this one as it's far too hot to spend hours in my craftroom.
This has all been done with stamping and masking, the rat was stamped first and masked off, then the camera (Darkroom Door stamp) and then masked off. Light spray of water and then sprinkled grey brusho powder on and dry.
Removed masking fluid and stamped the sentiment (Tim Holtz Tall Text alphabet stamps).
Then coloured with Prismacolour pencils.

Thanks for stopping by and have a cooler day if you're in the UK

'Dog Eared' for That's Crafty Challenge Blog

Hi Everyone
Well the last 2 weeks have flown by and it's the start of another challenge fortnight over at That's Crafty Challenge blog
Our theme for the next 2 weeks is
'Dog Eared'
So we are looking for any type of project that features dogs.
Here's my little piece of inspiration

My card, following our 'Dog Eared' theme, features stamps from Carabelle studio. The fabulous dog was stamped and masked off prior to making the background which has been stencilled using red and blue ink and then stamped over, I then added a little grey brusho to grunge it up a little. I have then coloured the dog using coloured pencils and added glossy accents to his glasses. The Rock On sentiment has been stamped using Tim Holtz foam alphabet stamps with Dylusions paint and outlined with a white posca pen.

I would love you to pop over Here and come and play along with us, there are also some fabulous pieces from the rest of the design team.
Don't forget if you join in with us you could be the winner of a £20 voucher to spend online at That's Crafty online store.
Thanks for stopping by

Make Something Happen

Hi Everyone
Today I would like to share with you one of the pieces that I had published in the February edition of "Mixed Up" digital magazine, a wonderful publication for mixed media fans all put together by the fabulous Katy Leitch. You will find all the details for subscribing to this brilliant magazine HERE.

My make was to support that even mixed media can have lots of white space. This card uses Seth Apter Spellbinder dies, a Tim Holtz photo booth picture, paint splatters on old book papers bits and bobs of found items and rusty left overs and my sewing machine.

Here is a close up of how I have stacked a selection of Seth's fabulous dies.

Hope you like it and I hope you all have a fabulous Sunday
